Listening to a personal growth podcast is a fantastic way to kick-start your day. The very best self-improvement podcasts help you focus your thinking for the day ahead and bring you more joy and clarity all day long.
Now, I won’t lie, my favorite podcasts usually involve true crime (shocker, I know), but I tend to save those heavier topics for later on in my day. My favorite podcasts to listen to as the sun rises and I drink my cup of coffee are feel-good ones that feed my soul.
How Listening to a Self-Growth Podcast Helps You Start Your Day Off Right
If you start your day thinking about the million things you need to get done and stressing before you even leave your bed, you aren’t setting yourself up to have a good day. However, if you decide to start your day mindfully, your day will just flow better.
I challenge you to start each day this week listening to one of these transformational podcasts and pay attention to how they affect the rest of your day. In my opinion, these shows represent the best personal growth podcasts around!
1. Monday- Yoga Girl Daily
You don’t have to be a Yogi to reap the benefits of this podcast hosted by Rachel Brathen. If you have ever listened to her other podcast, Conversations From the Heart, you know that Rachel isn’t afraid to get personal and help you dig down deep to unleash your truths. This daily podcast averages five minutes in length, with a new episode available every weekday. Some stand-out episode titles include The Powerful Benefits of Sitting in Silence, Incorporating New Habits Into Your Day to Optimize Your Wellbeing, and so many more.
One of my favorite things about this self-help podcast is the guided meditations every Wednesday. Whether you’re already at work or about to leave the house, you can sit for five minutes in silence while Rachel leads you through a meditation that will clear your mind and help you decide for yourself what your heart needs that day. Add this podcast to your Library, wherever you listen!
2. Tuesday- Happier with Gretchen Rubin
If you’re looking for a fresh perspective on life, then this podcast is for you. With thought-provoking episodes like Join the Work Happier Challenge, Use a Rubber Duck to Tackle a Tough Problem, and How to Do a Quick Good Deed That Could Have Big Consequences, this podcast is perfect for someone looking to think outside the box.
Not only does this show have a wide variety of topics, but it also offers mini-episodes called A Little Happier that are usually 3-4 minutes long. So, if you’re short on time and can’t listen to a 30-minute episode, you’re sure to still love these meaningful snippets. Who doesn’t want to be happier? With this upbeat and fun personal growth podcast, you’re sure to be. Find this show wherever you find podcasts.

3. Wednesday- Optimal Living Daily
There’s no better way to begin your hump day than with Justin Malik’s narration of some of the best blog posts on the internet. If you love reading self-help blogs but don’t always have the time to scour the web for the best ones, no worries, this podcast has you covered.
Justin finds the most inspirational blog posts on topics like health, minimalism, personal development, and finance- then reads them to us, free of charge and always with the author’s permission. I recently began listening to this show in the mornings, and it not only has enlightened me on some of these topics but it has helped me find some of my favorite bloggers. Don’t wait; download this one today, wherever you listen.
4. Thursday- We Can Do Hard Things with Glennon Doyle
If you haven’t read the brilliant book Untamed by Glennon Doyle, that needs to be step one. Step two is downloading Glennon’s equally brilliant podcast that brings the life lessons from her book to your ears each week. Especially with the current hardships our world faces today, this podcast is sure to remind you as your workweek comes to a close that no matter what is thrown your way —you CAN do hard things.
Glennon is as relatable as they come as she guides us through some of life’s hard-hitting truths. If you’re anything like me, you’ll think of her as a close, personal friend after listening to just one episode. An episode that still sticks with me is titled: You’re NOT a Mess, The World is. If that doesn’t make you want to run, grab your phone, and download this self-help podcast wherever you listen, then I don’t know what will.
5. Friday- The Quote of the Day Show with Sean Croxton
Whether you’re scrolling through Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest, you’re bound to see an inspirational quote or two in the mix of your feed filled with babies and vacation pictures. If you’re like me, you might read the quote, say, “hum, that’s interesting,” then keep scrolling without another thought. What if we could have help digesting and growing from these quotes we see every day? With this inspiring podcast, now we do!
The Quote of the Day Show features a new quote every day that Sean himself dissects. What does the quote “I Want the World to Be Better Because I Was Here” really mean? How can we make that happen? Find out by clicking the “Add to Library” button for this show, wherever you listen.
6. Saturday- The Highest Self Podcast with Sahara Rose
It’s finally the weekend, and you are ready to recharge. If spirituality is important to you and one of the ways you reset your mind, body, and spirit after a long week, then this podcast is a must-listen. Sahara is knowledgeable, relatable, and brings a sweetness to your life you didn’t even know you needed.
Notable episode titles include: How to Manifest Anything (That is in Alignment), Affirmations for Burnout, and Creating From a Place of Rest vs. Unworthiness. Whether it’s paired with a weekend yoga practice or just a nice cup of tea in the morning, get the brain juices flowing and learn how to connect with your soul with this incredible personal development podcast, available on most platforms.
7. Sunday- The Fundamentalists
Instead of being self-care-focused, this show’s goal is to make you think about the world from a unique perspective. I love to spend my Sundays reading and exercising my mind for the week ahead, and this podcast is another way to do just that.
With episode titles like Philosophy of Hangovers and Do Not Be Present, Comedian and Philosopher Peter Rollins will have you laughing and scratching your head all at the same time. You won’t want to wait to download this incredible show wherever you listen.
A Good Day Is Just a Podcast Episode Away
The best personal growth podcasts have the power to transform your life. That’s why I hope you take time this week to grab a cup of coffee, tea, or whatever nectar you prefer in the mornings and listen to these growth-focused, self-help podcasts. I know they will allow you to cut through the noise and bring you into a mental space that is productive, positive, and precisely what you need to make it through your busy day.
So, take a deep breath, grab a pair of headphones, and listen your way to a fabulous week.
